A concept map of every chapter
Refine reads each chapter of your book and lays out its main ideas and how they depend on each other. Then you build the map: drag each idea to the one it depends on and it locks into place.
Why build it instead of just looking at it
Researchers propose that the system the brain uses to find its way around a place also organises what we know (Bellmund et al., Science, 2018). Placing ideas yourself turns a chapter into a place you can walk back through, instead of a list you reread.
How it works
- Scan your textbook's cover, or open a PDF or a research paper.
- Each chapter gets its map: the concepts, and the links between them, with code, equations and diagrams kept on the ideas they belong to.
- Fix what's wrong. When a link is missing, Refine asks you to draw it, and checks.
- Come back to it. Short reviews bring the map's ideas back before you forget them.
Every chapter also gets a two-minute summary you can read or listen to.
